This Detail Design assignment is building on the recommendations made during the QEW Credit River Bridge from West of Mississauga Road to West of Hurontario Street Preliminary Design and Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) Study. That study, started in 2009 and completed in 2013, included extensive consultation with the local community. The results of that study were documented in the QEW Credit River Bridge from West of Mississauga Road to West of Hurontario Street Preliminary Design and Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) Study Transportation Environmental Study Report (TESR).

The purpose of this Detail Design assignment is to finalize the design, develop strategies to reduce environmental impacts and integrate the project into the local surroundings.

The Detail Design project involves designing a bridge to the north of the existing QEW Credit River Bridge and rehabilitation of the existing QEW Credit River Bridge.

Other components of the study include:

  • Improvements to QEW highway geometrics
  • Improvements/reconfiguration of the Mississauga Road interchange.
  • Replacement of the Mississauga Road overpass.
  • Drainage and storm water management improvements.
  • Noise walls for both the new and existing QEW Credit River Bridge.
  • Illumination and utilities work.
  • Working with the City of Mississauga to design two active transportation crossings at the QEW and over the Credit River.

Opportunities for public input and involvement will be provided throughout the project. These are further discussed within the Consultation section of this Project’s website.

If you wish to submit feedback, be added to the project mailing list or submit a question, please use the Contact Us section of this website.
